More than a feeling.

My name is Anne Kirk, and I'm a photographer and artist based in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia near Capon Springs.

I've been carrying a camera around with me long before I ever charged for a photo session. I first began experimenting with film cameras in high school and later bought my first point-and-shoot digital camera in college. I've always been an artist who works in many mediums, and photography has remained a big part of my work since I was a teen.

Having an authentic point of view has always been central to my work and influences each session I do, large or small. I like to explore the emotional element of every session (trust me, it's there) and gain your trust as we work together. I understand the vulnerability of being in front of the lens. I help shape that seemingly awkward moment into a memory you can look back on with softer eyes and appreciate. If you'll let me. And I hope that you do.

Let's make some magic together!

“As ephemeral as our footprints were in the sand along the river, so also were those moments of childhood caught in the photographs. And so will be our family itself, our marriage, the children who enriched it, and the love that has carried us through so much. All this will be gone. What we hope will remain are these pictures telling our brief story, but what will last, beyond all of it, is the place.”
